Daffa kindly welcomed me into her universe of African influences in the heart of Istanbul.
French of Malian and Senegalese origins, Daffa arrived in Turkey six years ago, as a result of her husband’s expatriation.
Until then, she had worked for prestigious NGOs in Paris, linked to Africa.
It is therefore quite natural that she was able to take advantage of her move to Turkey to found her own company initially aimed at promoting the work of African artists.
I say initially because her project has grown up and is now also giving visibility to African designers making elegant everyday objects such as stoles, pearl necklaces or various decorative objects.
Through partnerships with Senegalese, Malian, Kenyan and Ethiopian creators and artists, Art Kellen allows us to immerse ourselves in a cutting edge of African culture and to obtain original creations, produced ethically.
